About the Role

Game District is looking for a creative 2D Artist / 2D Generalist with mobile gaming experience to create game assets, animations, and UI designs. The ideal candidate should have a strong portfolio and hands-on experience with Figma and 2D animation tools.

Key Responsibilities

Create characters, environments, props, illustrations, and icons for mobile games.
Design game interfaces, menus, buttons, screens, and HUDs using Figma.
Create 2D animations for characters, game assets, and UI elements.
Develop concept art and adapt artwork to different game genres and styles.
Prepare and optimize artwork and animation assets for integration into Unity.
Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure consistent visuals and smooth animation implementation.
Refine artwork and animations based on feedback while meeting project deadlines.
Maintain organized source files and clear naming conventions.

Requirements

4+ years of professional experience in 2D game art, including mobile gaming experience.
A strong portfolio showcasing game assets, UI designs, and 2D animation work.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, or equivalent tools.
Hands-on experience with Figma for UI design and collaboration.
Practical experience creating 2D animations using Spine, Adobe Animate, After Effects, or equivalent tools.
Strong understanding of composition, color theory, perspective, and animation principles.
Ability to create stylized and casual mobile game artwork.
Understanding of mobile game asset optimization and production workflows.
Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with Unity asset and animation integration.
Experience working on casual, hybrid-casual, or hyper-casual games.
